Literature – Media – Aesthetics
The book series is a platform for studies devoted to the theory and aesthetics of the book in connection with the question of the specific function and mediality of literature. It is open for scholarly works that focus on the intrinsic mediality of literary texts, i.e. on the functions of design, typography, illustrations, bindings and paratexts, as well as on the material format of the texts, in order to explore the interplay between aisthesis, (media) aesthetics and poetics.
The series will present research that conceives of literature as a specifically ›book-like‹ communication with regard to the aesthetics of media, form, and material, and that aims to describe material-oriented languages of form.
The series is edited by Torsten Hahn
and Nicolas Pethes
