Public and Applied History
Public History is an interdisciplinary endeavour connecting history and society, research and practice. The issues of dealing with one's past, of conveying and popularizing history are key to our time but so far there have not been enough editorial platforms to discuss these issues and establish Public History in the context of memory cultures and heritage. This field thus not only includes research on how to teach history, but also more generally the work of museums and archives, any popular or performative forms of conveying history and memory in the media, in tourism etc.
This edited series aims to provide a forum for innovative research on the many facets of this field to create a collaborative Public History project within and beyond the realms of academia.
