Historical Gender Studies

Research in Historical Gender Studies began as an endeavour to acknowledge women's contributions to history, to make their voices heard. Today, scholars of historical gender studies work on various topics, such as the history of gender relations, the history of feminism, of discourses of masculinity, as well as the history of the everyday lives, the persecution, the disfranchisement, and the struggles of LGBTQI* people.

Our book series »Historical Gender Studies« offers a forum for innovative research on the many facets of this field to create a collaborative project for scholars of history, gender studies, cultural studies, and others.
