Critical Rural Research. Contested Resources, Rural Transformations and Political Alternatives

The book series Critical Rural Studies is devoted to contributions from Geography, Sociology, Planning, and Political Science that engage with rural spaces in the Global South and North, their transformations, representations, and conflicts, as well as with political alternatives. Books published in this series challenge existing social inequalities and draw on power-sensitive and critical approaches, including critiques of capitalist relations, intersectional, queer and feminist theories, and decolonial, ecological, and transnational concepts. The book series offers a forum for perspectives on the rural that are often marginalized in the dominant discourses. The editors welcome monographs and edited volumes, as well as single studies and other formats, and address researchers, students as well as activists . The book series will be edited by Michael Mießner, Matthias Naumann, Martina Neuburger, and Alexander Vorbrugg.
