Licensing & Copyright Protection
All transcript Open Access publications are published under a Creative Commons licence. Our authors can choose from all available licences, although some funders, such as the FWF, specify certain licences. Apart from the CC BY-NC-ND licence, most of our OA publications are published under the CC BY or CC BY-SA licences. By choosing the licence, the authors themselves determine which uses are released for their publication.
General information on the available licences can be found here, among other places: https://creativecommons.org/licenses.
Legal Information for Authors
If your publication makes extensive use of external material that exceeds citation rights, please clarify the possibility of using this material in an openly accessible online version before signing your author contract with us. When you seek permission to reuse previously published material, you should also ask all rights holders for permission to use it in the OA publication.
Even if you opt for green OA and your digital publication is only converted to OA after a delay, please opt for a Creative Commons licence from the outset and clarify the rights to use third-party material in OA before signing the author contract.
