Thomas Pekar

Thomas Pekar (Dr. phil.) is Professor of German Literature and Cultural Studies at Gakushuin University in Tokyo. He received his doctorate in a study about Robert Musil at the University of Freiburg and qualified as a professor (habilitation) in a study about the European reception of Japan at the LMU Munich. He is currently interested in Exile Studies, studies about cultural encounters between east and west, and classical modernism in German literature.
