Julia Meer

Julia Meer (Dr. phil.) is part of the Cluster of Excellency »Image Knowledge Gestaltung« at the Humboldt University in Berlin and does research on the Bauhaus. Before that she finished her PhD on the reception of the New Typography and the early professionalisation of graphic designers. From 2008-2014 she worked in the designhistorical department of Bergische University in Wuppertal and designed several catalogues and exhibitions (for example on Max Burchartz and Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Chair). 2012 she co-editied »Women in Graphic Design 1890-2012«. Besides her scientific work, she works as a designer. She is editor of the magazine »ff.« and organises lecture series (for example on the architecture of the 1950s).
