Henriette Herwig

Henriette Herwig, born in 1956, is professor of modern German literature at Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf. She received her doctorate from Universität Bern with a thesis on Botho Strauß, worked as a visiting scholar at Harvard University and Duke University, and completed her habilitation on Goethe's novel of old age »Wilhelm Meisters Wanderjahre«. Her fields of research are: 18th-21st century literature, gender studies, and cultural gerontology.
